Founded in 2009, Munster Times is a DIY fanzine out of Melbourne (Melbourne Rock City in Australia, not your grandparents’ retirement community in Florida), interviewing local and international bands, as well as reviews of forgotten movies and TV shows, new releases, rantings on football and cricket, tributes to the glory days of professional wrestling, and judgements on what is happening in Melbourne and Melbourne’s Southeast Suburbs. Plus asking every subject what their favourite Fall LP is.

Munster is the brainchild of Matt Ryan, lifetime resident of Melbourne, long time gig goer, radio host and running gigs at the St Kilda Bowls Club. Running 40 issues Munster Times is a labour of love to Melbourne’s current and past scenes, covering people and events that need to be preserved.

Issue 39: Interviews with Redd Kross, Stu Spasm (Lubricated Goat), Johnny Casino, Jim Ruland talking his book, Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise and Fall of SST Records, and JJ McCann on the reformed original Nunchukka Superfly. Mark Andrew is blooded in the Munster family shearing some brilliant gig pics. Plus rants on the 2024 footy season and tribute to Steve Albini, and more.
