SUMMARY:Garageland Brighton - Black Groove\, Crowgod\, Chub\, Wimp
DESCRIPTION:Garageland London brings the party to the seaside with our next instalment of Garageland Brighton at The Pipeline!! \nBlack Groove\nhttps://www.facebook.com/Blackgroovedoom/ \nBlack Groove are Jake\, Jyff\, Gareth and Sam. They are the soundtrack to your liquified body being pulled slowly into the tar pits by the doom demons below. \nThey are a sludgy-doom 4 piece that burn bright with a punk authenticity\, this reaches beyond just the standard mesmeric pace of the doom genre. They grab you by the face and violently take you with them. The maniacal and desperate screams pierce through the deep\, chest shaking unisoned riffs\, the shifts of pace throw you to all out maelstrom. But\, there is triumph in this. In the madness. They revel in the filth. And you’re dragged into that. Dragged into Black Grooves filthy pit of crisis doom. Put it this way\, Black Sabbath would shake your hand\, Black Groove would eat it. Piece by piece\, and smile while doing it. \nCrowgod\nhttps://linktr.ee/crowgod \nCrowgod are a Heavy-Doom sludge style band from Brighton whom interject moments of beautiful clarity with controlled chaos at their live shows. Expect chonky riffs and melodic madness \nChub\nhttps://www.facebook.com/chubtheband \nCHUB came to be as a means of battling lager-soaked frustration in the aftermath of the 2019 UK general election. Four lifelong friends raging against the machine\, with topics ranging from generational discontent and the corruption of the public square\, to more light hearted topics like pounding pints and saggy scrotes- their mantra is “you’ve gotta laugh or you’ll cry”. Best described as “metal-infused party punk”\, they’ve carved out a niche for themselves somewhere in between The Chats\, Noam Chomsky\, and a greasy chicken kebab. \nWimp\nhttps://www.instagram.com/simp_for_wimp/ \nNew hardcore band featuring Marley from Jar Of Blind Flies/No Relief\, Tommy and Arthur from Negative Measures + Sammy G

SUMMARY:The Stitches return to London with support from Atomic Suplex!
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Night Owl in Finsbury Park for the return of the mighty Stitches!\n\nThe group’s debut 7″ “Sixteen” came out in ’94 and is one of the greatest punk singles ever released. It was as if the Sex Pistols\, Pagans\, Dead Boys\, and countless Killed By Death favorites had coalesced into one wild and explosive band. The energy\, power\, and guts just bled out of your turntable speakers! In a single moment\, Michael Lohrman and Johnny Witmer emerged as a vocal/guitar tandem of legendary proportion. “Sixteen” arrived at a time when nothing that sounded quite like it had been heard in years\, and it inspired the growth of “snotty punk rock” as a genre onto itself in the later ’90s and beyond.\n\nWe’re incredibly lucky to have them again as they only play about four gigs a year!\n\nSupport from Dirty Water Records band ATOMIC SUPLEX!\n\nPresented by 14th Floor Music and Dirty Water Records.\n\nCapacity is limited to 100 so we strongly suggest you move quickly. You snooze\, you lose!\n\nTickets: £12 advance / £15 door; advance\, no fee tickets are available only from https://www.14thfloormusic.co.uk/product…/gig-tickets/.

SUMMARY:The Spits\, IRMANS\, TBC: Sunday 9 July 23 (e-ticket)
DESCRIPTION:Postponed until 9 July 2023 due to illness. \nEveryone’s favourite space-age mutant skate punks are coming to London for the first time! \nThe Spits are already as ingrained in modern punk music as possible\, yet still manage to devour the rip-offs and influence the youth of today without even looking like they’re trying. Going strong now for nearly 20 years\, smashing the windows and tearing down the walls of our minds every time they play\, these truly vicious visionaries have cooked punk down to its most powerful base form\, crawling like Neanderthals through the muck\, and creating a flaming trail of hits that’ll take quite a fit of dementia to ever forget.\n\nWith an ingenious amalgamation of DEVO’s early synth work in tandem with the absolute best Thug-Punk grunt the Ramones could ever maliciously muster\, The Spits never try to reinvent anything\, they just rip it’s head off and drive it home time and time again.\n\nA perfect distillation of punk’s original open-ended weirdness\, and modern music’s serrated salvation\, The Spits have proven themselves to be no one to fuck with\, over and over again. True headliners\, never to be followed and for good reason. They’ve always been one of the most original bands of the twenty-first century\, yet it never really seemed like they weren’t doing anything too experimental\, save their signature\, yet refreshingly just-ahead-of-their-time\, synth/drum machine noise they forced the fickle punk crowds to gladly swallow.\nThe Spits have already done so much\, but still have so much more to come\, as they continue to influence anyone with a penchant for irresistible punk music\, played like there’s nothing to lose.\n\nTickets: £18 advance / £22 door\n\nAdvance\, no fee tickets available from 14th Floor Music here.

Cutting out a reputation for being a relentless high-energy punk rock whirlwind live\, Los Pepes have also left a bunch of 7”s and three LPs in their wake – “For Everyone” – 2014 “All Over Now” – 2016 and “Let’s Go!” – 2017 all via Wanda Records. Formed in London by Ben Perrier some years back\, Los Pepes is an international organisation. Made up of a strange bunch of misfits from the four corners of the world\, from the UK to Japan to Brazil to Poland. Born thousands of miles apart but all with the shared experience of growing up hooked on punk and not giving a fuck\, Los Pepes is living proof that rock and roll is a global force of nature. SUMMARY:Steve Hooker Stripped Down Stompin' Band
DESCRIPTION:If you don’t already know Steve Hooker…he is the epitome of the under-the-radar modern Bluesman.\nSteve has never stopped writing and performing brilliant songs with his bandmates…and the new single confirms it again. \nIt would be easy to talk about Steve´s past … playing and recording with Wilko Johnson and Levi Dexter\, sharing stages with Chuck Berry\, Steve Marriott\, and Johny Thunders… \nBut this isn´t a cabaret\, my friends! The man is as relevant\, and better\, than ever.

SUMMARY:Shindig! Presents Happening! with Large Plants
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the 6th January for an evening of psych rock followed by DJ sets from Lee Petryszyn and Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills. We can’t think of a better way to kick off the New Year!\n\n\nHappening welcome the return of LARGE PLANTS for their first gig with the new rhythm section of Paul Milne (bass) and Itamar Rubinger (drums)\, who’ll be propelling the guitar interplay of Joe Woolley and band leader Jack Sharp. Between them these wondrous musicians have played\, and play\, with Green Seagull\, Rosalie Cunningham\, The Lords Of Thyme and Wolf People. As Large Plants they play a high-octane densely layered blend of heavy and psychedelic rock with dark folkish undertones\, recalling Trees getting it on with the mellower early ’70s version of Blue Cheer. Pick up their excellent Ghost Box album if you are yet to so. Our guest deejay is the too cool for school LEE PETRYSZYN\, who’ll be spinning a fine array of psychedelic garage pounders and our own JON ‘MOJO’ MILLS will drop some proggy organ groovers\, bubblegum rock and a dash of glam and heavy soulful rock.\n\n\n\n\nGet your tickets here: https://skiddle.com/e/36246078
